What are Dessert cups, desserts Shots or Mini Shooters?

Desserts cups or desserts shots, also known as shooters have become super popular because they're easy to make, budget-friendly, and visually striking. This particular one combines the creamy texture of Oreo with soft layers that you can customize to your liking.

Best of all, you can serve them in disposable, acrylic, or shot glasses and personalize them for parties, family gatherings, or even as a product for your business.

Step-by-Step Instructions

For the crust

In a processor or blender, crushed the biscuits

For the chocolate ganache

Heat the cream in the microwave or in a pot and pour over the chocolate.

Let rest for a few seconds and mix until everything is incorporated.

For the filling - Oreo cheesecake

The bowl and blades of the mixer must be super cold before using. So I recommend putting them in the freezer at least 30 minutes before using.

Once the bowl and blades are very cold, add the cream cheese and beat until there are no lumps.

Then add the heavy whipping cream, icing sugar and vanilla and beat to incorporate a little. Use a spatula to clean the edges and bottom of the bowl.

Beat cream on low to medium speed until stiff peaks form. Do not over beat the mixture.

Then add the crushed biscuits and fold with a spatula until combined.

For the Chantilly - Whipped cream.

The bowl and blades of the mixer must be super cold before using. So I recommend putting them in the freezer at least 30 minutes before using.

Once the bowl and blades are very cold, add the heavy whipping cream , powdered milk, icing sugar and vanilla.

Beat cream on low to medium speed until stiff peaks form. Do not overmix.

Assembly and shots decoration

To each shot add an approximate of 1 tbsp of crushed biscuit for each layer. I added 2 layers of crushed biscuit per shot.

The amount of the layers will depend on how you want the shot to look. For reference, I added a layer of biscuit, a layer of oreo cheesecake, a chocolate ganache and so on.

Finally, decorate them with chantilly / whipped cream using a piping bag and use a wilton 1M tip.

Add oreo biscuits as decoration.

Storage and Make ahead Instructions

Keep the desserts shots or desserts cups refrigerated until serving or setting up a dessert table.

They'll stay fresh for up to 3 days when well covered.

Do not freeze, as the texture of the cream changes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
